AKARI AND NXLED JOINTLY WELCOMED WORLDBEX 2017 GUESTS

Building a Legacy of Excellence

Akari, the country’s top lighting and electrical brand, together with its sister brand, Nxled, the leader in next generation LED lighting solutions, welcomed architects, interior designers, trade partners, and customers to its Worldbex 2017 booth at the World Trade Center from March 15 to 19, 2017.

Worldbex attendees were among the first to experience the power of the Akari Airforce Series. This innovative line of Akari rechargeable mist fans is perfect for beating the intense summer heat in the Philippines. Get ready to enjoy cooler, refreshing air as the water droplets evaporate, significantly lowering the surrounding temperature — making it an ideal energy-efficient cooling solution for homes and outdoor spaces.

Jema Galanza, team captain of the Akari-backed Adamson Lady Falcons Women’s Volleyball team, was among the notable attendees. Showcasing her creativity, she used the Akari ARL-7779 rechargeable LED lantern as a selfie ring light, achieving the perfect “ring of light” effect — a testament to the product’s versatile, multi-purpose lighting capability.

Meanwhile, the unveiling of the upcoming Nxled smart circular lamp with Bluetooth speaker — another groundbreaking ‘first’ from Nxled in the smart home lighting category — generated significant excitement among trade visitors. Its powerful, energy-saving bright light was a visual showstopper, while the crisp, high-fidelity sound from the lamp’s built-in speakers was music to everyone’s ears!

Trade visitors weren’t only introduced to the latest LED lighting innovations and smart electrical products; guests also took advantage of exclusive Buy 1, Take 1 deals and other limited Worldbex 2017 promos by Akari and Nxled — making it a truly rewarding experience for early adopters and loyal customers alike.

An industry pioneer in the lighting solutions market with over 50 years of experience in providing high-quality, world-class, and energy-efficient lighting, electrical, and energy products to homes and commercial establishments across the Philippines, Akari and Nxled have been consistent and proud supporters of Worldbex for years — continuing their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the lighting industry.

“We’ve successfully increased the seating capacity in the upper-ground or general admission area, raising it from nearly 7,000 to more than 8,000 seats,” Tan revealed.

He added that the project team is also carefully studying proposals to introduce standing room areas, prioritizing both safety and accessibility for fans.

“Safety remains a top priority. Should standing zones be added, there will be protective barriers in place, along with clear emergency discharge routes to ensure everyone’s well-being,” Tan explained.

In his speech, Tan expressed gratitude to the UAAP for entrusting Athletica Asia Land Corporation with such a meaningful endeavor.

“Today, as we break ground, we’re not just laying the foundation of a structure — we’re building a legacy. This will be a space that inspires future generations and unites people through the power of sports,” he said.

A Vision for the Future, Powered by Akari

For Akari Chief Executive Officer Christopher Tiu, the Home of the UAAP stands as more than a landmark; it embodies the company’s long-standing mission to empower communities and support grassroots sports development.

“In just a few years’ time, this arena will serve as a breeding ground — an incubation center — for young athletes who will make their schools and country proud,” said Tiu. “It will be a place where their skills are honed, their dreams are nurtured, and their potential shines brightest.”

A True Home for Champions

UAAP Season 88 Chairman Fr. Richard Ang, O.P. echoed the same sentiment, describing the groundbreaking as a pivotal moment for the league and the nation.

“With the UAAP Home, we take the next bold step forward. Beyond being a sports venue, it will be a true home — a space of belonging, growth, and shared legacy. A place where champions will be nurtured,” Fr. Ang said.

As the foundations are laid and the vision takes shape, The Home of the UAAP promises to stand not only as a physical structure but also as a lasting symbol of collaboration, perseverance, and Filipino pride — a testament to what can be achieved when innovation and passion come together.

Akari is proud to be part of this historic milestone — illuminating the path toward a brighter future for Philippine sports.
